Optomap
A retinal exam without the Drops! Advanced technology now allows Doctors to preform a retinal eye exam without the use of dilation drops! Optos created an optomap, ultra-widefield retinal imaging, which allows Doctors to view 80% of the retina at one time. This can help you avoid the dreaded drops, the irritation of light sensitivity and blurred VA during the time duration of its effects. The images are saved and can be used to track progress of retinal eye diseases. Dilation is still considered the standard in the industry, therefore there is an additional copay for this test. If there is an issue discovered in the imaging, dilation is often still needed to assess the issue further. |
